SDI Open Water Diver (SDI)Course Overview:The purpose of the Open Water Course is to provide students with the elementary knowledge and skills they need to safely gain experience in the diving environment and ultimately, to dive independently. During the course you will complete 5 academic modules, 5 confined water modules, and 4 open water dives. When you complete the course you are eligible to dive as a certified diver. Be sure to have all required equipment prior to the Saturday morning of your open water dives. You may rent any of the required equipment from Scuba Shack, pick it up on Wednesday prior to your dives and pay regular week-end rates. This gives you 2 free days to get prepared. Students are responsible for their own transportation
